Getting it Right…Keeping Your Child Safe

Getting it Right…Keeping Your Child Safe   Thursday 7th March 2019

Please find attached a flyer for the latest ‘Getting it Right…Keeping Your Child Safe’ event being organised in Perth on Thursday 7th March 2019.  Perth and Kinross Council and partners are providing a free seminar for parents, carers and professionals broadly based around online safety and the theme of ‘Keeping Your Child Safe.

 Getting it right...

This event aims to build on the success of previous “Getting it Right….Keeping Your Child Safe”  seminars which have very positively received, each having recorded an attendance of between 450 and 550 delegates over the course of the day.  The impact and importance of the events was also recognised in 2016 when ‘Getting it Right…Keeping Your Child Safe’ was shortlisted as a finalist in the Scottish Cyber Awards.  With that in mind, I would ask that representatives reserve a place as there will be wide publicity for the day, and I would not want anyone to be disappointed.

This event will be held in Perth Playhouse Cinema, 6 Murray Street, Perth. There will be three identical presentations over the course of the day:

            9.30 - 11.30am

            1.00 - 3.00pm

            5.30 – 7.30pm

This event is about keeping children safe, so please tell everyone about it!  “It’s everyone’s job to make sure I’m ALRIGHT”.  The speakers will be providing interesting, relevant and up-to-the-minute information about keeping children safe in our digital environment.

In order for the event to be successful, it is important that information is circulated not only to the parent body but also to all staff and other professionals.  Please share this information with your contacts.  Please also display the flier on notice boards and websites wherever possible.

Schools are free to send representatives, if available, to one of the seminars in order that information can then be cascaded back to the wider school staff.

Unfortunately, due to the content of some of the presentations, no persons under the age of 16 will be permitted entry.
