Truacanta Perthshire Takes Wings to Bruges

Truacanta Perthshire began in 2019, one of five projects in Scotland supported by Macmillan and Good Life Good Death Good Grief to look at improving experiences around loss, care, grief and bereavement by drawing on the compassion which exists  in our communities.

A central part of the Truacanta Perthshire project was the creation of Selfie Wings on the North Inch park as a symbol of hope and connection during lockdown, when our community felt a huge sense of loss as we were disconnected from our loved ones. The wings became a feature on social media as people took selfies, and shared their stories of what life had been like.

We've been invited to share the story of Truacanta Perthshire at  an international Public Health Palliative Care  Conference in Bruges and will be sharing a workshop around compassionate community, which is the theme of this conference, as Bruges is a Compassionate City.

I'll be sharing some of the content of the conference on our Twitter site  @PKlearning and hope to share an updated blog on what experiences of loss, grief and bereavement looks like from around the globe.
