SDS For Unpaid Carers

If - following an assessment - an unpaid carer is eligible for support, then that support should be arranged through SDS.  This guide from The Coalition of Carers Scotland gives some helpful information for unpaid carers. My Life, My Way Learning Tool

East Renfrewshire Council developed a learning tool with a great series of videos called My Life My Way, which walk viewers through the whole process of someone getting support, from the first conversation to a support review much further down the line. These have been developed into a playlist of 14 short videos (between 2-10 mins each) which you can watch here: My Life, My Way Learning Tool - YouTube

 

When you watch the videos, you can read through the learning tool below to ask yourself questions about what you've seen. This tool is also below in the Further Reading section so you can download it and work through it in your own time.

Information and Advice in Perth and Kinross

Through the Scottish Government's Support In The Right Direction project, PKAVS has been commissioned to give information, support and advice to unpaid carers on Self-Directed Support.
