Community Equipment and Adaptations Training
This training package is for the following assessing workers:
- Community Care Assistants
- Social Workers
- Social Work Assistants
- Partnership Occupational Therapists
- Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Occupational Therapy Support Workers
- Physiotherapists
- District Nurses
The training package allows assessing workers to learn how to assess for and provide non-complex equipment and adaptations. All the information and resources required are included within the package.
After the full training session has been completed and access to ELMS has been set up and the USER GUIDE read within ELMS you will be able to access any part of the training as required for guidance or to refresh your memory.
Please complete the full training in the running order suggested initially - this will require approx. 1-2 hours.

After going through above you will see that all the info you require is there.
However, if you would like assistance initially please contact the OT or OTA in your locality and ask them to support you through the process as you get used to it – best done over MS Teams.
ELMS
The last stage of the training is to get logged on to the ELMS system which is where you place the orders for equipment /adaptations.
To create an account, get a log in and set up a password to ELMS please follow this link

Once logged in you will see under the LINKS tab along the top the full user guide to ELMS with all the instructions you may require.

Update from the 1st April 2023 there will no longer be any charges for equipment and adaptations.
